Real Projects, Real Stories

These aren't just buildings we've designed - they're spaces where people live, work, and honestly, make memories. Each one taught us something new about what sustainable architecture can actually do.

Riverside Residence

Toronto, ON | Completed 2023

This one was a challenge we'll never forget. The clients wanted a family home that'd actually reduce their carbon footprint without looking like a science experiment. Took us eight months of planning, but we managed to integrate passive solar heating, rainwater collection, and a living roof that their kids now use as a garden.

"We thought we'd have to compromise on aesthetics for sustainability. Lumos proved us completely wrong - our home is stunning AND our energy bills are practically nothing."

Harbor Point Office Complex

Mississauga, ON | Completed 2022

Corporate offices don't have to feel soul-crushing. That was our pitch, anyway. This 45,000 sq ft complex features floor-to-ceiling windows for natural light, communal green spaces on each floor, and an adaptive HVAC system that learns usage patterns. Employee satisfaction ratings jumped 32% after the move-in.

Transformation Stories

Sometimes the best projects are about reimagining what's already there.

Before Renovation BEFORE

Queen West Loft

A neglected 1920s warehouse that'd seen better days. Water damage, outdated electrical, zero insulation.

After Renovation AFTER

Queen West Loft

Now it's a 4-unit residential loft with preserved brick, geothermal heating, and original timber beams we salvaged.

The Numbers Don't Lie

This renovation took 14 months and honestly tested our problem-solving skills. But we kept 78% of the original structure, diverted 12 tons of material from landfills, and created homes that use 60% less energy than standard new builds.

"They didn't just renovate a building - they respected its history while making it completely modern. That's rare."

Oakville Community Hub
COMMUNITY

Oakville Community Hub

Oakville, ON | Completed 2023

This project hit different. Working with the local community to design a multi-purpose space that'd serve everyone from toddlers to seniors meant dozens of town halls and probably hundreds of sketches. We ended up with a flexible design featuring movable walls, natural ventilation, and a rooftop garden that the neighborhood maintains together.

What People Are Saying

"Finally, a community space that works for everyone. My mom in her wheelchair, my kids, everyone feels welcome here."

- Marcus P., Local Resident

"The design process was incredible - they actually listened to what the community needed instead of telling us what we should want."

- Patricia Wong, Community Board Member

The Beaches Eco-Home

Toronto, ON | Completed 2021

Our client was a retired engineer who wanted to prove that passive house standards could work in Toronto's climate. Challenge accepted. We designed a home that maintains comfortable temps year-round with minimal mechanical heating or cooling. No joke - their highest heating bill last winter was $43.

Key Features
  • Triple-glazed windows throughout
  • Heat recovery ventilation system
  • Super-insulated building envelope
  • Radiant floor heating from solar thermal
  • Greywater recycling system
